Berlin 1934. Night of the long knives ”Nacht der langen Messer”.

The space shows the transition from freedom to repression from the life of two characters using firstly warm materials like wood and textiles, then cold, rough and hard materials such as cement and iron in the last scenes.

 

In the second act all the public are guided by nazi guards to another stage where they view from behind a locked fence. The audience now see all the act in black and white. The intention was to impact on the viewer and to inmerse them in the concentration camp.
